Session 1: Tuesday, February 23rd @ 10am & Wednesday, February 24th @ 2pm
Tree Planting and Understanding the impact of landscape construction and site development on tree health and survivability.
Have you ever planted a tree only to have it suffer for years and ultimately die?
Have you noticed large trees planted that never develop any growth or vigor for years and years?
This session will introduce how important site, soils and planting hole preparation is. One of the most important and often overlooked aspects of tree planting, as my old friend used to say, ‘Better to plant a five dollar tree in a ten dollar hole, than a ten dollar tree in a five dollar hole.’
Session 2 Tuesday, February 23rd @ 2pm & Wednesday, February 24th @ 10am
Cutting Techniques, Chainsaw Use and Safe Procedures.
What can you do to maximize safety when using an chainsaw?
Would you like to learn cutting techniques that allow you to maximize control when using a chainsaw?
This session will help answer these questions and more. You will learn about the history of the chainsaw, tooth design, and exactly how a chainsaw cuts.
